The Nurtured Heart Approach as a social-emotional curriculum in inner-city schools has dramatically reduced the rates of referral for special education as well as that of student suspensions.  School administrators who preside over schools using the approach find that not only have their student statistics - including test scores - improved but also that teacher retention rates have increased dramatically along with staff morale.
